In 1980, I moved to Los Angeles with a change of environment and a fresh start in mind. I was 18 years old with no father but with a tremendous mother who gave me a tremendous amount of love and support. She always told me to finish high school and that would be enough.

When I arrived from Brooklyn New York to Los Angeles, I found myself wondering if I was doomed for failure because my parents were poor and I was not of the elite.

I would always wake up at the crack of dawn and this is when I first saw the show Minority Success Stories which is now called Making It!

Each show brought me a different view of motivational advice. It made me realize that if they could do it, so could I.

Minority Success Stories started to become my coffee every morning. As the years went by, I started to find success. I often called the Making IT! Producers and would ask them to feature me on the show. The producers were always polite and very encouraging. They always said “Keep doing what you are doing and it will come”

I did just that and now have made it in life because of the great motivational shows on Minority Success Stories and the words of the producers.

Recently, I picked up my Sunday paper, went to the living room and turned on the TV. There it was again… Making It! my morning coffee for many years. I watched the show and it brought back memories.

Now, I can say that I am the success story of Making It! and I want to give back to it's viewers by sharing my experience with them. I would like to share that no matter what and where you are today, if you want something bad enough it will come.

I would like to thank Making It! for letting me know that regardless of anything, I too can make it.
